Why do you think engaging in the AAMC Virtual Community is important?
It's a great resource for networking and learning from some of the best in the field.

Do you have a professional skill or area of expertise that might be of particular interest to your peers in this community?
Yes. I am a medical educator with over 15 years of clinical practice experience in general medicine and surgery. I am a clinical anatomist with expertise in neuroanatomy, developmental anatomy, gross and microscopic anatomy. I excel in educational research and serve as a content expert in these aforementioned areas. In addition, I am the Director of the simulation and interprofessional education lab and oversee simulation training for both undergraduate and graduate medical training and other health workers' training.

Are you the 'go-to' person at your institution for advice or expertise?
I am open to discussions involving educational research, simulation, and anatomical sciences.

What’s the best piece of professional advice you have ever received?
Learn to say no. It's very easy as a new faculty member to be overwhelmed with all the new things you have to do, besides the extras being put on your plate. Often, it's difficult saying 'no' to such additional requests, and learning to do so could be helpful for one's well-being.
What do you think is the best, most challenging, or most unique thing about working in academic medicine?
The ability to inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals through teaching and breaking complex topics into simple chunks for them.
