Each year, the Arnold P. Gold Foundation presents the Pearl Birnbaum Hurwitz Humanism in Healthcare Award to a woman who exemplifies humanism and has advanced the well-being of vulnerable or underserved populations in health care. The award is named for Pearl Birnbaum Hurwitz, a leader in the movement to provide services and support for children with disabilities and their families and the founding President of the Arc of Massachusetts. The deadline for nominations is Dec. 18.
