The AAMC and seven other national organizations issued a joint statement calling for a system-wide approach to improving crisis standards of care that may be invoked during future COVID-19 surges. The organizations recommend reflecting on clinical and operational lessons learned in order to make improvements based on the past year’s experiences and to ready the nation’s health care system and communities for possible surges in demand for patient care.
