The AAMC Communications team is also producing a congratulatory compilation video, including voices from across the academic medicine community to congratulate all newly matched MDs. This will be shared on Friday, March 19th during Match Day across social media and on the AAMC's website.
Want to add your voice? It should take less than 5 minutes to record and upload your video message. Below, I've included some sample language to use and instructions for recording and sending back the content if you're able to participate. If possible, please upload your video by Tuesday, 3/16 at 12 pm ET.
Sample messages for video recording:
- "Congratulations on being matched!"
- "Match Day is an exciting and memorable day in your medical journey. Today signifies the culmination of four challenging years of medical school and represents your transition from student to physician."
- "I wish you the best as you begin your next phase of training!"
Instruction for recording and sending your video:
- Find a well-lit and quiet area to record (avoid sitting with back against the window, instead, position speaker facing the window for proper light).
- Open camera on your device (iPhones are good, or tools like Zoom can be used to record). For the best video or photo quality from your mobile phone, use the camera on the backside of your phone.
- Position your phone in Standard landscape position, and keep your camera at eye level to record.
- After you end recording, send the video file to Dropbox (https://www.dropbox.com/request/2FaVZFrKacFifEMV9ttN), or you're welcome to email the file directly to me if that's more convenient (sweiner@aamc.org).

Match Day is one of my favorite times of year and it is just around the corner! Match Week for the 2021 Main Residency Match will take place March 15-19. Throughout the week, I encourage you to share congratulatory messages with photos and videos of students, faculty, and staff taking part in virtual festivities by using #Match2021. The AAMC will also be creating a YouTube playlist of Match videos and a Facebook album with photos from across the country so make sure your institution is represented!
