Artificial Intelligence is quickly becoming part of every field, including Medical Education. But the big question is: how can we use it wisely to truly support residents?
Imagine AI helping:
- Feedback → turning clinical notes into real-time, constructive comments that go beyond "good job."
- Assessment → analyzing performance trends across rotations to identify strengths and areas for growth.
- Personalized Learning → tailoring resources and cases to each resident's needs instead of a one-size-fits-all approach.
Of course, AI will never replace the human connection, mentorship, and empathy that are the heart of education. But if used thoughtfully, it can be a powerful ally in reducing administrative burdens and giving educators more time to actually teach.
I'm curious:
- Do you see AI as a supportive partner in medical education, or as a potential risk to the human side of learning?
- Has anyone here tried AI-based tools for feedback or resident assessments? What worked (or didn't)?
