What’s the best way to talk to someone who is on the fence about the COVID-19 vaccine? Check out these tips from Vaccine Voices, a project of the AAMC and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:

    • Start by listening. Resist piling on the facts.
    • Customize the conversation.
    • Focus on where you can make a difference.
    • Don’t lead with fear.
    • Personalize persuasion. Share your own experience.
    • Emphasize the safety over effectiveness.
    • Rinse and repeat. It may take multiple attempts.

You can access these tips and other great resources, like this article about leveraging the doctor-patient relationship, at VaccineVoices.org and please consider sharing these stories within your own networks.

Do your institutions have promising initiatives in place to increase vaccine confidence among your staff and in your communities that you think we should know about? Send us your stories here in the community or to vaccineconfidence@aamc.org. We’d love to hear from you and share them on VaccineVoices.org.
