    Hello everyone!

    Thank you for a great call last night. I have some well-being resources to share with you.

    1. Marty Seligman is the Director of Penn's Positive Psychology Center. A link to his piece on coping with uncertainty is below.
    2. An approach to responding to COVID-19 by Dr. Russ Harris. I have attached details of his approach.

    'FACE COVID'

    How to respond effectively to the Corona crisis by Dr Russ Harris, author of The Happiness Trap

    'FACE COVID' is a set of practical steps for responding effectively to the Corona crisis, using the principles of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). Here's a quick summary of the key steps, and in the pages that follow we'll explore them all in more depth:

    F = Focus on what's in your control
    A = Acknowledge your thoughts & feelings
    C = Come back into your body
    E = Engage in what you're doing

    C = Committed action
    O = Opening up
    V = Values
    I = Identify resources
    D = Disinfect & distance

    And for something a little less serious:

    I love this, @Lyuba Konopasek - thanks for sharing! I found Dr. Russ Harris on Facebook and it turns out he put a longer 'FACE COVID' document on Google Drive that I thought the group might also like to see: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_O8grFdwMDuGVIE_RvdRfhHhf6xf3tY8/view?fbclid=IwAR3b3BUQNZFJWM0fEdMH1m-TKxAsop46ofYEWRPnwf7vjLNaBkz_v7uIwug

    Be well!

    I wanted to call this group's attention to a discussion thread that was started in the Academic Medicine Open Forum on the topic of resilience during this stressful time.

    What self-care practices are you employing right now to manage your resilience?

    We'd love to hear your thoughts. Click here to access the original thread and share your thoughts.

    I thought the group may be interested to see this recently published article in NEJM, "Preventing a Parallel Pandemic - A National Strategy to Protect Clinicians' Well-Being": https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMp2011027
