    Last week was national Public Health Week. Did you know that the AAMC has 2 public health-focused cooperative agreements with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention? One, a longstanding program, develops and supports activities to enhance population health education and training in medicine, nursing, and public health. The second, a new agreement, aims to enhance the knowledge and abilities of health care personnel to support the CDC’s national COVID-19 vaccine strategy and its implementation in hospitals, health care systems, and communities disproportionately impacted by COVID-19.  


    There are many ways for your institutions to engage with the great programs under these cooperative agreements.  Here’s how:


    AAMC-CDC Population Health Program

    • Subscribe to the bimonthly AAMC Population Health Connect newsletter for updates on population health activities, curricular resources, and upcoming meetings
    • Complete a free, self-paced, interactive learning module focused on interprofessional practice to improve and protect population health
    • Explore over 300 public health training opportunities in the Public Health Pathways searchable database
    • Identify opportunities to measure the effectiveness of public and population health curricula and activities using a published framework
    • View webinars and accompanying resources on innovative curriculum models presented by health professions educators

    AAMC-CDC Program to Build Confidence in COVID-19 Vaccines

    • Explore the CDC’s toolkits to build confidence about COVID-19 vaccination among your health care teams, pharmacy teams, and staff.
    • Support AAMC’s efforts to gather promising practices and stories of building trust with health care personnel and communities disproportionately impacted by the pandemic. Contact @Jennifer Bretsch to learn more.
