The AAMC invited 13 leaders and learners in academic medicine to share their thoughts on the events of the past week, the complicity of medicine in perpetuating inequities, and the role of students, physicians, and academic medical institutions in helping to heal the nation. If you haven't already read the article, I encourage you to check it out via AAMCNews.
Students, physicians, and academic medical centers have a role to play not only in recognizing structural racism, but in addressing health disparities that disproportionately affect communities of color. If you're able and willing to share, I'm sure all those in this community could benefit from hearing about what your institutions are doing to address issues of structural racism.
