Mobile devices and cloud-based tools offer amazing technology innovations that may improve healthcare—from internet-connected scales that notify clinicians about a patient’s weight change, to smart thermometers that collect data about where people have fevers to predict COVID-19 hotspots. But the “internet of things” comes with concerns, too.
