As part of a broader AAMC strategic initiative on integrating arts and humanities throughout medical education, the AAMC is collaborating with The Good Listening Project, a non-profit organization that conducts brief 1:1 video call with volunteer participants and subsequently transforms the conversation into a work of original poetry. Each participant can choose to share his or her poem, with or without attribution. According to the Good Listening Project, sharing your thoughts with a “listener poet” can help reduce anxiety, clear your head, and add to your emotional energy reserves.
The collaboration serves as a unique way for AAMC constituents to express themselves and find solace during these uncertain times while experiencing a unique, personalized, virtual poetry session to be scheduled at your convenience. To take advantage of this opportunity, please email FRAHME@aamc.org and a code will be provided along with a link to schedule a virtual session. Once you receive a code to participate, it is important that you schedule and attend your session within a two-week window. There is no cost to participate.
