I am writing to make you aware of a narrative medicine essay contest that is open "to all students and residents in the health care professions in the United States and Canada. The essay topic for this 5th biennial American Balint Society sponsored essay contest if "bridging diverse experiences in clinical relationships". Entries are due by July 31, 2021. Up to 3 winning and 3 honorable mention essays will be selected. Winners will be invited to read their essay at the January 26-28, 2022 National Meeting of the American Balint Society. Winning and honorable mention essays will be published in the Medline-referenced International Journal of Psychiatry in Medicine (IJPM). Over the 10 year history of this essay contest, 24 essays (12 winning and 12 honorable mention) have been published in IJPM.
