I'm working with residency and fellowship programs to develop a comprehensive plan to begin engaging with resident and fellow alumni, many whom have had no connection with the program or institution since they completed training. Part of this plan includes building out a recognition program. I'd love to hear from any of you who have such programs in place. What steps did you take to develop your recognition program? How did you go about recruiting an award selection committee? What awards did you begin with? Where we're just beginning to reconnect with these alumni and pull them back into the fold, it is likely to take time to re-establish the relationships and connections, and I anticipate challenges in soliciting nominations, committee volunteers, etc. I appreciate any insight and advice you can share regarding what worked well, or not, for you and your programs.
