We are currently working on an important video project that tells the story of the academic medicine community's COVID-19 journey from the perspective of frontline health care professionals at academic medical centers.
The Ask:
We are looking for images, video, and/or oral or written stories to include as part of the project. If you have something to share, please email us directly at agately@aamc.org or reply below! Deadline: Friday, August 13
Background Info:
The working title for this project is: This is What We Do – Academic Medicine and Covid-19
As part of the video, we want to touch on the entire spectrum of experiences – including things like:
- ICU/Triage;
- Galvanizing the medical community and sending teams across the US;
- Sharing protocols;
- Making PPE;
- Testing;
- Research;
- Working with public health agencies;
- Community engagement; and
- Vaccine clinics / getting out into the community.
We very much want to include some of the amazing stories about how health care professionals got resourceful and worked together with their communities to face the challenges of the pandemic head-on. Finally, it is our intention to bring home the point (on behalf of our medical centers) that "this is what we do, this is what we have always done, and it is what we will continue to do."
Looking forward to seeing what you all submit and remembering the powerful work you and your institutions did on the front lines.
