As a new academic year approaches, the AAMC, American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM), Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), and Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) have come together to develop voluntary guidance, toolkits, and other resources to assist in the transition of 2021 medical school graduates into their first post-graduate year of education and training.

Over the next several weeks, the organizations will identify and promote assessment and well-being tools, including practical guidance to ease the transition of students and support programs in their mission of education, training, and patient care. The goal is to enable programs, operating throughout the pandemic, to support the learning and formation of the next generation of physicians, with an objective to make the resources available by the end of March.
