Did you know? The MCAT® exam was developed by F.A. Moss, a physician and psychologist, between 1928 and 1946.
This image of the 1941 “Scholastic Aptitude Test for Medical Students” shows that the true/false and multiple-choice questions were divided into eight sections. This first version of the test included a “Preliminary Sheet” with material to study and memorize, as a way of assessing students’ visual memory, content memory, comprehension, and retention. Students were given one hour and twenty minutes to complete the test.
