Today feels like a good time to bring up the topic of “courageous leadership.” We’re looking forward to hosting a discussion on this topic on Tuesday, November 17, during Learn Serve Lead 2020: The Virtual Experience. We’ve got a panel of leaders in academic medicine who will talk about setting aside fear, confronting realities head-on, and saying what needs to be said (session description and speakers listed below).

Courageous Leadership: Challenging the Status Quo in Academic Medicine
Today, more than ever, there is a call for bold, confident, and courageous leadership in academic medicine and science. This session will feature panelists who have demonstrated the ability to step forward and take risks to lead change and create solutions related to the COVID-19 pandemic as well as issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The panelists will explore the challenges they’ve confronted and the personal characteristics and behaviors that set a crucial example in times when others would rather hunker down and wait for the storm to pass.
