As part of the District's communications strategy for the COVID-19 vaccine, D.C. Health is asking health care workers and first responders to record videos of themselves, highlighting why they are getting vaccinated. The hope is that these videos will encourage others to get vaccinated when it's their turn to do so. Videos will be displayed via the District's social media platforms.
If you or a family member or colleague expect to get vaccinated in the coming days, please send a video or photo of the vaccination and some basic information to me at
sweiner@aamc.org (or via direct message here in the community). We will submit it to the D.C. government and post it on the AAMC social media platforms, and back here on the community site, too!
If you choose to go the video route, here are some quick guidelines for what to say in the video. Please hold your phone vertically when recording.

"Hello, I'm [NAME] and [A LITTLE BIT OF INFO ABOUT THEMSELVES, e.g. 'a nurse at Howard Hospital.']
Why am I getting vaccinated?
I'm getting vaccinated because [THEIR PERSONAL REASON(S)].
Together, we can save lives and end this pandemic. So, when it's your turn - get vaccinated!"
