Please join us for a unique virtual event, 9/30/2020!

While the nation's medical schools and teaching hospitals are making great advances in how they address pain and addiction in their curricula and programs, we have planned a special event to supplement this work and recognize National Recovery Month. Please join us as we discuss addiction recovery and lessons we can take from the art of documentary film #FRAHME. As you know, the coronavirus pandemic is having devastating effects on those with addiction and a new film docu-series tells the stories, or lived experiences, of several youth along their recovery journeys.

On Sept. 30 from 4-5 p.m. ET, in recognition of #NationalRecoveryMonth, the AAMC will be hosting a virtual discussion of this new MTV (Music Television) documentary series, "16andRecovering.

We are delighted to be partnering with MTV on this virtual event. MTV Executive Series Producer Ben Hurvitz, Northshore Recovery High School Founding Director, Michelle Lipinski, and Deputy Director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIH/NIDA) Wilson Compton, MD, MPE, and AAMC Sr Director of Diversity Policy and Programs Norma Poll, PhD will join us for a conversation about youth addiction, bias, stigma, recovery, and the intersections of public health and medical education.

We hope you can join us!

    To participate:
