If your institution is a transplant hospital, please email me by 10 am CT on Monday, June 28 to be included in a joint comment letter to CMS (
attached) in opposition of the FY22 IPPS proposal to limit reimbursement for organ procurement costs to only organs that are ultimately transplanted into a Medicare beneficiary. In addition to the administrative burden of tracking the organ, this limitation would lead to millions of dollars of losses to our programs and decreased organ supply for our patients. This letter is unique because it speaks from the perspective of transplant hospitals and concerns about the impact on our patients. Participation is intended to be complementary with other efforts and comment letters. Thank you.
