Did you miss the LSL viewing of the AAMC produced short documentary, “This Is What We Do,”? As promised, it’s now available to view on our website, along with much more. It explores the journey of academic medicine during the COVID-19 pandemic and the impact it has had on communities and the country. The story is told through the perspective of you, our constituents from the nation’s medical schools, teaching hospitals, and research institutions who share in your own words how you rose to the challenge during the global pandemic.
We were overwhelmed with submissions, stories and examples of the amazing things you all have done over the last nineteen months to better serve your students, patients and faculty. The research and teaching you’ve implemented, the programs and messaging, the community outreach – it’s all truly amazing. But – it’s what you do, every day. Thank you for your continued, tireless efforts.
A special shout out to some folks here who submitted examples, like @Elizabeth Tracey at Johns Hopkins and the team there, who you can see featured on our YouTube highlight reel. Their "This Is My Story" initiative, that recorded family interviews about their loved ones, such as their interests and upbringing--and not their disease during Covid, is just amazing.
