Good Morning:
I will respond to each of your questions post above:
Q:
In my experience with online communities, is there any functionality missing from ours? A: I do not typically subscribe to online communities (or do not actively/consistently participate in the ones I've joined). Therefore I am probably not well positioned to compare experiences. However, I do not perceive any "functionality missing", as I feel I am able to access information an appreciate post notifications.
Q:
How can we encourage more engagement? I think the "personal connections" need to precede the online community. I think personally knowing people before joining the online community will make it more likely one engages in the online community (familiarity, sense of comfort, etc.). Therefore, begin/continue "in person" networking at AAMC annual meetings. This would allow people to meet in person first (or allow people to nurture relationships), so that the stakeholders can sustain an on line relationship.
Q:
If I could make one improvement to the site, what would it be? I do not know of any way to "improve the site".
Q:
What is my primary reason for using AAMC communities? My primary reason is to ensure I'm updated on issues of concern to AAMC, issues of concern in health service research (particularly disparities) and the intersection of the two. I also find it useful to know the institutions at which engaged members reside. This information allows me to contextualize stated concerns. I am satisfied with the information being shared. However, I wish I had more time in the day to delve into the conversations or more consistently access uploaded or cited material.

Subject: Question of the Week: How can the AAMC Communities Network better serve you?
The AAMC Digital Communications team is working on our multi-year roadmap for enhancements and improvements to the AAMC Communities network, and we want to ask you-our community users-what we should be working on.
Questions to consider:
- In my own experience with other online communities, is there any functionality that is missing from ours?
- How can we encourage more connections and engagement with each other via virtual communities?
- If you could make one change or improvement to the site, what would it be?
- What's your primary reason for using the AAMC Communities network and how satisfied are you with the ease of use and the quality of information being shared?

We're looking forward to learning from your experiences and working together to make the AAMC Communities Network your home for all things academic medicine.
Thank you in advance for your time to provide feedback.
