Racism is the reason for large, sustained health inequities in the United States. The February 2022 issue of
Health Affairs, "
Racism & Health," contains a comprehensive, scholarly look at the
complex relationship between racism and health and provides new evidence, analysis, and narratives on the topic. It is our hope that the issue will make a lasting contribution to the field and enhance the national dialogue regarding the importance of policies to address structural racism. I am one of the co-authors of
The Generational Impact Of Racism On Health: Voices From American Indian Communities", which is featured in the February 2022 issue of the journal.
