    AAMC Coronavirus Resource Hub
The AAMC continues to monitor guidance from the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) state and local health agencies as it relates to the coronavirus (COVID-19). We will continue to update this page as more information becomes available. https://www.aamc.org/coronavirus-covid-19-resource-hub

Resource: Dashboard of Coronavirus Global Cases

The Johns Hopkins Center for Systems Science and Engineering has developed an online dashboard to track and visualize COVID-19 cases daily. Access the data >>

    Resource: University of Washington SharePoint
    ICYMI,
thanks to our colleagues at the University of Washington for creating a COVID-19 resource SharePoint site to share protocols with the academic medicine community and health professionals around the world:

    AP Stylebook: Coronavirus Topical Guide
Another interesting resource that may be helpful for those in positions where you need to communicate externally or internally about COVID-19. The AP Stylebook just release their Coronavirus Topical Guide. It includes clarified guidance that, at least for now, terms such as
the new coronavirus or the new virus are OK on the first reference. For more details, follow AP coverage of the virus outbreak at https://apnews.com/VirusOutbreak and https://apnews.com/UnderstandingtheOutbreak

What are the most informative articles, papers, or interviews you've read on COVID-19?
March 5: On Twitter, Ezra Klein started a thread with the prompt, "What are the most informative articles, papers, or interviews you've read on COVID-19?" The Twitterverse has chimed in to share some great articles and resources that I thought might be valuable for this group to be aware of. I'm including a few links below, but feel free to follow the conversation on Twitter OR reply to this post with your own resources.

Thanks to @Tannaz Rasouli for sharing this resource.

On Twitter, Dr. Cary Gross shared, "Let's crowdsource regarding how large academic med centers are providing travel guidance in setting of #Coronavirus." He shared a very preliminary chart on March 6 and asked others to share corrections and additions on Twitter (entire thread is worth a read-through). Since it posted Friday, he's continued to crowdsource Academic Med Center COVID-19 Travel Restrictions.

You can contribute to and share this Google doc:

Academic Medical Center Travel Restrictions (3/6/2020 Prelim List)

From Dr. Gross, here is a summary of how 55 AMCs are approaching travel:

    Hello Everyone,

After listening to your conversation yesterday we are sharing two new documents and one updated document highlighting principles and suggestions to help guide you during this challenging time.

    • LCME principles from the secretariat summarizing what was shared during yesterday's webinar.
    • Suggestions from the AAMC regarding the NBME's recent announcement temporarily suspending Step 2 CS.
    • Role of Medical Students and COVID-19 (revised and updated March 13, 2020)

To borrow language from @Geoffrey Young, @Alison Whelan, and Veronica, we at the AAMC remain committed to supporting you as you guide, counsel, and advocate for your learners during this difficult time. We hope you'll find these new resources helpful and ask you to continue to reach out with questions.

    Hello everyone,

On top of the articles Academic Medicine and MedEdPORTAL editorial teams put together and @Stephanie Weiner shared earlier in this thread, MedEdPORTAL's Editor-in-Chief, Grace Huang curated this set of virtual learning resources from the MedEdPORTAL archive.  As always, all of the articles are free to read, download, and hopefully use in your local setting:  https://www.mededportal.org/collection/virtual/

ACCME has asked us to spread the word about the set of educational resources they have been maintaining for clinicians so I wanted to add it to this discussion thread.

New Collection of Resources on Clinical Teaching and Learning Experiences without Physical Patient Contact

The AAMC has developed a resource collection in response to the significant impact on the teaching and learning of health professionals that has resulted during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Designed by a diverse group of educators, this working collection features clinical learning experiences that can be readily used or easily adapted for specific local settings without the need for physical patient contact.

New AAMC page dedicated to COVID-19 for medical schools and medical educators.

Now in one spot to better support our medical educators and medical schools, we have posted guidance and resources from the AAMC and its partner organizations related to medical students' educational activities; accreditation, assessment, and the transition to residency; changes to teaching and learning; best practices for supporting learners; and more.
