The AAMC has named the recipients of the 2023 Nurturing Experiences for Tomorrow's Community Leaders (NEXT) Grant. These institutions were selected to receive $40,000 each over two years to support initiatives for medical students and residents to confront racism and advance health equity in partnership with local communities.
The recipients are:

- University of California, Riverside School of Medicine
- Community Partner: Advocate for Nurturing Transition (ANT) Consulting
- University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
- Community Partner: Birth Sisters Doula
- Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine
- Community Partner: Eliminating Racism & Creating/Celebrating Equity (ERACCE)
- Yale School of Medicine
- Community Partner: Women Against Mass Incarceration (WAMI)
