6,739 registered community members? Wow, I remember when there were fewer than 100 of us in this space back in 2018 and early 2019 (h/t to @Janet Stiles and @Haiyan Han for being with us from the start!). I wanted to chime in to add my thanks to this community. It is the highlight of my day when I get to log in to this virtual space and collaborate and talk with you all. I'm so glad we can talk about and work through the heavier things that are happening in our field and in the world, and also have some fun along the way!
I would be remiss not to send a special thank you to my own AAMC digital engagement & community teams and raise up each of you for your efforts to help grow and cultivate this academic medicine community: @Penny Schnarrs, @Nicole Buckley, @William Allen, @Abbie Gately, @Bernadette Gallegos, @Emma Nicholas, @Claire Fletcher, @Jim Storer -- and of course all our dedicated sub-community managers which are really too numerous to list -- thank you, thank you!

Subject: A Letter To You: AAMC Communities End of Year Wrap Up
Throughout this past year, the dedication of our community members has truly defined our space as a dynamic hub for collaboration, information sharing, and mutual support. Your survey results earlier this year told us that you heard of your interest in being able wanted to further connect with peers and colleagues in both professional and social opportunities here at the AAMC and we intend to provide more of those opportunities in 2024! Look for a new topic-based coffee and connection virtual event coming in February.
The engagement and participation of our community members have been instrumental in creating a vibrant virtual environment committed to advancing medical education and healthcare. As we step into the new year, we are excited to announce upcoming initiatives aimed at enhancing the community experience. Anticipate new volunteer opportunities that will provide avenues for active involvement in our shared goals. Furthermore, we're thrilled to introduce the Mentor Match program, fostering mentorship and knowledge exchange to strengthen the connections within our community. Together, we have the collective power to overcome challenges, celebrate successes, and continue making a positive impact on medical education. Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to each member for their hard work and dedication. Here's to another year of shared accomplishments and meaningful connections. Wishing everyone a joyful holiday season and a prosperous New Year!
