    AAIP Announces the 2023 51st Annual Meeting and Health Conference Poster Competition

    When: September 7-10, 2023

     

    Where: Paradise Point Resort & Spa

    1404 Vacation Road

    San Diego, CA 92109

     

    The Association of American Indian Physicians is seeking posters that address substance abuse, metabolic disorders, childhood obesity, strokes, mental health, cerebral vascular disease, kidney disease/renal failure, musculoskeletal disease, osteoarthritis, autoimmune disease/lupus, rheumatology, trauma-suicide, homicide, domestic violence, poisoning and self-inflected trauma, diabetes, cancer, osteoporosis, and cardiovascular disease. Posters should emphasize treatment and epidemiological issues for American Indian/Alaska Natives.

     

    WHO: Undergraduate students, graduate students, resident physicians, health care providers, physicians, and other meeting attendees with relevant AI/AN health research and programs.

     

     

    DEADLINE FOR POSTER SUBMISSIONS IS FRIDAY, JULY 14, 2023. 

     

    Awards will be given to the top posters after a review by a panel of judges. The award amounts are:

     

    1st Prize = $300

    2nd Prize = $150

    3rd Prize = $75

     

    Poster applications must submit the following:

    ·    Cover letter with name, contact information, student or professional status, & brief biographical sketch

    ·    Abstracts are limited to 250 words, single space, in WORD, and must adhere to the following format:

    Title: One line description

    Author(s): Underline the person presenting the poster

    Background: State the health issue or problem and its impact

    Objectives/Aims: State the objectives or aims of the research

    Methods: Describe the type of study, the setting for the study, the sample characteristics, the measures used, how the analysis was conducted, etc.

    Results: Key findings from the study 

    Conclusions: The importance or relevance of results

    Note: Posters should preferably not exceed 24" x 26" in size. Poster boards and push pins will be provided for you in the poster exhibition area.

     

    All Abstracts should be e-mailed to Gary Lankford at glankford@aaip.org. You will be notified by July 28, 2023 if your poster is approved to compete. Please direct all inquiries to Gary Lankford at the above email address. Poster applicants who are accepted are responsible for their own registration, travel and hotel accommodations for the AAIP 2023 51st Annual Meeting.
