As a librarian, it is heartening to see that libraries are at 87% in overall trust level (only 2nd to fire departments and just a 3% decrease). Libraries are ideal partners in promoting health amongst communities especially as trust amongst other institutions (such as public health departments, universities, etc) continue to decline. Meanwhile, libraries are under siege with book challenges and other attacks and are always struggling with funding. Please continue your support of your institutional libraries and support your local public library!

Subject: AAMC Center for Health Justice explores changes in trust
While most Americans report trust in institutions, trust has gradually declined in eight out of nine sectors from 2021-2024. One notable exception: local schools, which showed no change in trust during this period. The AAMC Center for Health Justice's new brief offers valuable insights into these trends, including the consistent lower levels of trust among Gen Z. Institutions must focus on collaborative actions to rebuild trust and ensure fairness, transparency, and equity. Are you surprised by these findings?
