    Academic health systems (AHSs) across the U.S. are major job creators - think ambulance drivers, researchers, janitors, nurses, food service workers, physicians, and many more. Cuts to NIH funding, which partially supports AHSs, threaten not only medical advancements and health care services, but the economic vitality of the communities they serve.
