    My colleague Elena Fuentes-Afflick, MD, MPH, the AAMC's Chief Science Officer, spoke with U.S. News and World Report about the proposed NIH funding cap: "What people sometimes call 'indirect costs' are properly called 'facilities and administrative costs,' and these are what we consider essential costs of conducting research...
