My name is Jen Goubeaux, and I'm the program administrator for the AAMC MOSAIC Program, also known as the AAMC Career Development Program for Maximizing Opportunities for Scientific and Academic Independent Careers (MOSAIC) Scholars.
I invite mid-to senior-career academic researchers to apply to join our MOSAIC Program's mentor pool to become an AAMC-identified MOSAIC Mentor and make a positive difference in the career of one of our promising MOSAIC Scholars. Read more information and apply here by Aug. 15.
The AAMC MOSAIC Program provides mentorship, skills-building, and leadership development for cohorts of NIH-funded researchers from diverse backgrounds, for example from groups underrepresented in research, as they transition from postdocs into academic research faculty positions. The program is part of NIH's efforts to enhance diversity within the academic biomedical research workforce.
Each MOSAIC Scholar is matched with an AAMC-identified MOSAIC Mentor who serves as a neutral third-party while also providing periodic career support and advice as the scholar transitions to a new academic faculty researcher position. Scholars from last year's cohort have already reported their gratitude for the positive difference their AAMC-identified mentors made in their faculty search process and future research planning. Up to 19 scholars are expected to join the 2022 cohort by the end of the summer, and each scholar will be matched to an AAMC-Identified mentor from our mentor pool by early fall.
Please reply to this post with any questions about the program or about serving as a MOSAIC Program mentor. Also, please forward to any of your colleagues who might be interested in this opportunity.
