I would love to hear about strategies other alumni offices are utilizing to generate nominations for awards. Our organization gives out 5-6 each year including Distinguished Alumnus and Distinguished Young Alumnus. While it is fairly easy to find award worthy in-state alumni, we know that there are more across the country doing great things that we are missing. If you have some innovative practices or strategies that have worked to bring you knowledge of out of state alumni and their activities/impact to their communities, please share!

Beth, I don't have the answers, but @Molly Monk and I are asking a lot of the same questions lately about our annual Distinguished Alumni Award program. Would be very interested to hear anyone's thoughts as well, or maybe we could chat sometime to compare notes?
