Thanks, Nancy. I've tapped in some of my AAMC colleagues to your post and want to share some information from our Office of Government Relations on our webpage on Trump Administration Executive Actions.

Under the "Department of Education and Federal Student Aid" heading, you'll see: "On April 23, the Trump administration issued the executive order "Reforming Accreditation to Strengthen Higher Education." The order directs the Secretary of Education to "hold accountable, including through denial, monitoring, suspension, or termination of accreditation recognition, accreditors who fail to meet the applicable recognition criteria or otherwise violate Federal law." The order also instructs The Attorney General and the Secretary of Education, in consultation with the Secretary of Health and Human Services to "investigate and take appropriate action to terminate unlawful discrimination by American medical schools or graduate medical education entities that is advanced by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education or the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or other accreditors of graduate medical education." Read more about how this executive order could impact academic medicine."

The last line links to an April 25 Washington Highlights article with more information: https://www.aamc.org/advocacy-policy/washington-highlights/trump-signs-higher-education-executive-orders.
