Explore How Mentoring Impacts Faculty Engagement During National Mentoring Month

  • 1.  Explore How Mentoring Impacts Faculty Engagement During National Mentoring Month

Mentorship makes a difference. Faculty who receive formal mentoring are significantly more likely to stay at their institutions for the next one to two years compared to those who receive informal or no mentoring, according to AAMC StandPoint™ Surveys data.

Faculty with a formal mentor reported higher levels of engagement and workplace satisfaction, yet only 37% of 2020-2022 survey respondents reported receiving formal mentoring.

In honor of National Mentoring Month, explore the AAMC StandPoint™ Surveys: 2023 State of Medical School Faculty Engagement report to learn more about how assessing factors that drive faculty engagement and retention regularly can help medical school leadership create positive change in their workplaces.

To learn more about the benefits of routinely deploying StandPoint™ Surveys for faculty, staff, and interprofessional teams, visit: https://www.aamc.org/services/member-capacity-building/standpoint-surveys.
