    Dear Community,

We are excited to announce the next DREAM (Disability Research and Education in Academic Medicine) Research Rounds focused on medical school and HPE admissions!

The DREAM Research Rounds are designed to build, mentor, and expand a vibrant community of scholars committed to disability inclusion research. These sessions highlight groundbreaking work on an international stage, fostering cross-cultural collaboration among researchers and stakeholders. Through these efforts, we aim to drive innovation and meaningful progress in promoting disability inclusion in academic medicine.

Join us on November 5th at 12 PM EST for a presentation by Dr. Alison Callwood, Associate Professor at the University of Surrey

Title: Innovating for a Sustainable Workforce through Neuroinclusive Selection to Health Professions: Process Evaluation of a Novel Co-Designed Interview

    Description:
Ensuring equity, inclusivity, and diversity in the selection of our health professions workforce is recognized internationally as both an ethical and practical imperative. Globalization and increased workforce pressures amplify this need. Fulfilling our responsibility to ensure fair selection is complex, particularly in light of recent unprecedented shifts to online interviews.

This talk will detail the user-led research and development of an online interview platform designed using Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles, aimed at enabling applicants to be the best version of themselves during the interview process.

    Accessibility:

    • ASL interpretation and captioning will be provided.
    • The talk will be recorded and available on our YouTube page for those unable to attend live.
