    Colleagues,

Thought to start a conversation here regarding chair communications (AKA where messaging goes to die). Would love to hear how you all have engaged your chairs in extending institutional messaging to their faculty, consistently, clearly, and continuously. What have you done at your institutions that works?

    Hi Joe,

I look forward to hearing the responses on this one too as we've struggled a bit with chair communications.  One thing that has been mostly positive over the years has been scheduling a quarterly chair meeting to discuss topics of interest across departments.  This includes things like accreditation, faculty evaluation procedures, P&T, and others.  We give an update but also encourage discussion to share best practices.

    thanks for posing the question!

    Andrea
