You are invited to participate in a research study aimed at gathering expert opinions on the ideal curriculum for teaching social medicine to future healthcare professionals. The purpose of this study is to identify the core concepts, structure, and teaching methods that should be included in a social medicine curriculum for the 21st century. The study will use a Delphi process, a structured method to build consensus through participation in a focus group and/or multiple rounds of surveys.
You are being asked to participate if you have conducted research on the social aspects of medicine and/or teach health professions' students about these topics. We define expertise in social aspects of medicine as someone who:
- Holds a primary appointment in an academic social medicine department
- Has published at least one peer-reviewed article on Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) as a corresponding or senior author, or
- Is a principal faculty member teaching medical, nursing, or pharmacy students about SDoH in formal coursework.
