A little late, but no matter! I live in one of the ultimate beach destinations, though I do not live that close to a beach. South Florida / Miami is a sprawling metropolis with wonderful beaches. I prefer the beaches in Broward County just north of us compared to South Beach because it's typically less crowded. Since I'm a pale person, I can burn easily so I love to sit in a chair with an umbrella and listen to the waves or read a book. I do collect seashells and cool rocks as I find them. I am not a water sign astrologically but I love being in the water. I have gotten stung by a jellyfish off of South Beach so that is not one activity I would recommend.

I grew up on the Gulf Coast and Clearwater Beach is one of the best in the world.

What about other people who either live near a beach or your favorite vacation destination involves a beach?

NC prides itself on being a "mountains to the the sea" state.  While I love the mountains, the beach is my happy place.  I firmly believe NC has the best beaches in the world, from the northern tip of the Outer Banks to the warm southern beaches.  I grew up around my dad's dockside restaurant in a small fishing town at the mouth of the Cape Fear, so I love shrimp, crab, oysters, and fresh fish.  My kids would stay in the ocean all day, every day if they could - so I'm usually out there with them jumping waves and boogie boarding.  @Max Anderson I also enjoyed hanging out with you on the beach in Chicago last Fall!

I was working with medical school in one of the most beautiful places in the world, Caribbean Island of Nevis. We spend almost 20 years there. I enjoy swimming, snorkeling, paddle boarding, kayaking, took part in Triathlon, and loved walking on the beach, watching the sunset and "green flash!"! the water there was so clear and warm! I miss that place, but love working with TUSOM!
