I wanted to let you know about an AAMC webinar series you may be interested in. The IDEAS Learning Series(Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Anti-racism) is a monthly series that brings together thought leaders, innovations, and best practices from across academic medicine to help you foster inclusive environments; create equitable advancement, promotion, and tenure policies; and promote anti-racist policies, education, and institutional practices. The series is part of the AAMC Strategic Plan, Action Plan 3: Equip Medical Schools and Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems to Become More Inclusive, Equitable Organizations.
I'd like to invite you to our next webinar on March 21 at noon ET, "Becoming Active Bystanders and Advocates: Teaching Medical Students to Respond to Bias in the Clinical Setting," which will provide an overview of a workshop developed at Vanderbilt School of Medicine that teaches medical students an effective framework to use in responding to incidents of bias in clinical settings. This workshop can be implemented at your institution to sustainably improve participant knowledge and confidence in responding to incidents of bias and microaggressions. The webinar will include access to the workshop materials as well as the opportunity to ask questions.
