Hello, I'd like to create a personal *Must Read* list for #GMEProfessionals. I need your input! What are your favorite books and/or article? (I promise to compile and share out with the community!)

I'll share one of mine - Let Me Heal: The Opportunity to Preserve Excellence in American Medicine by Kenneth Ludmerer - an excellent historical account of the residency system for training doctors. I like to think of #GMEProfessionals as the 'Uncle Hanks' of the early days of residency (a little teaser!)

I love it so much that I once wrote a Letter to the Editor of the Journal of Graduate Medical Education. That was a fun experience working with former JGME Editor Ingrid Philibert. Check it out here.

I can't wait to see what other must-reads I need to add to the list!

    #medical #education #doctors #training #love #share #GME #MedEd

Just Medicine A Cure for Racial Inequality in American Health Care by Dayna Bowen Matthew - she draws from multiple disciplines to trace the history of implicit bias in health care. JUST MEDICINE | Kirkus Reviews.
Daniel Dawes' books: 150 Years of Obama Care, and The Political Determinants of Health.

As a Medical Humanities professor, I suggest some of Rafael Campo's poetry. Rafael Campo, Poet and Physician
