As we celebrate National Volunteer Week this week (April 21 to 27), it's a perfect moment to shine a spotlight on the incredible impact of volunteering and express our heartfelt gratitude to all those who dedicate their time, skills, and passion to make a difference in our communities and beyond.

Established in 1974, National Volunteer Week serves as a poignant reminder of the power of generosity and the ripple effect it creates. It's a time to honor the inspiring individuals who selflessly sow seeds of kindness, nurturing our communities and enriching lives with their unwavering commitment to service.

At the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), we deeply value the contributions of our volunteers who play a vital role in advancing our mission and initiatives. Your dedication fuels our efforts to promote excellence in medical education, improve healthcare outcomes, and foster innovation in the field.

To mark this special occasion, we invite you to explore the opportunities available within the AAMC's Virtual Communities Network Volunteer Space. Here, you'll discover a variety of projects tailored to match your interests, expertise, and schedule.

Hi Stephanie! Though no longer Volunteer Week, tank you so much for highlighting the importance of volunteerism. I wholeheartedly agree that volunteering through AAMC is not only impactful but also an excellent way to quickly engage with the community, network with peers, and gain valuable experiences that can significantly enhance a CV.

The AAMC's Volunteer Manager Tool really makes it easy and convenient to find opportunities that match one's interests and skills. It's impressive how seamlessly one can explore, learn about, and apply for various projects. This process not only saves time but also ensures that every volunteer finds a role that resonates with their passion and professional goals. Personally, I've found that volunteering has opened many doors for me, allowing me to build meaningful connections and develop skills that are highly regarded in the medical and educational fields. It's truly a win-win, giving back to the community while growing personally and professionally. Let's keep the spirit of generosity alive and continue making a difference. Happy (belated) National Volunteer Week!

    Thanks!

    Avery
