I'm so excited to announce the release of a new publication from the AAMC and ECG Management Consultants: "Insights Into Building a Unified Physician Enterprise for the Modern Academic Health System."
This work explores how academic health systems (AHSs) are integrating faculty and community physician groups, with the objective of moving toward a cohesive, high-performing enterprise. Based on a national survey of 31 AHSs and in-depth interviews with 18 AHS and medical school leaders, the publication outlines how integration is a strategic imperative central to clinical growth, financial stability, and sustaining our education and research missions.
The publication was released on the AAMC Store last week in conjunction with an #AAMC25 session: "Academic Health Systems' Integration of Faculty and Community Physician Organizations: A New Study" on Sunday, Nov. 2 at 1:15 PM. Our ECG partners and I will devote most of the session to an interactive audience discussion of the publication, and we hope to see you there!
This has been an important effort. I'm proud that, through this new publication, we can provide AAMC members with some of the practical insight and data-driven analyses they need to build a more responsive, resilient, and mission-driven physician enterprise.
