They say that medicine is as much an art as a science. But for some extraordinarily talented medical students, their artistic pursuits have informed not only their practice of medicine but also their choice of specialty, their ability to empathize with patients, and their desire to help others. In the lead up to Match Day last month, AAMCNews staff introduced us to seven artistic fourth-year students who were waiting to learn their Match outcomes: a New York Times bestselling author; a professional dancer; a musician; a digital artist; a ceramic artist; a writer/artist whose work has been displayed at the U.S. Capitol; and an NFL dancer/cheerleader.
Did they match? AAMCNews staff have updated the article to share where these students will continue their training!
