@Carolyn Pointer - very good point and I'd love to hear from others about their remote work experiences (ours are a bit different at the AAMC as remote workers). It will also be interesting to see how/if there is more effort to bring people back to the office with the current administration having federal jobs going back to inoffice work.
And, #AI isn't just going to be helping with career applications, but also school ones - and our AAMCNews has just published a great article on that recently - AI will now read your medical school application.

Subject: Question of the Week: Workforce Trends in 2025?
Experts across industries (and across the internet) have been predicting career and workforce trends for the coming year:
- Hybrid schedules (for those who can) are the norm now; the full-time return to work movement may be failing.
- Keep an eye on AI's evolving role in the workplace, including the increasing role of AI in the recruitment/hiring process.
- Younger workers are starting to resist or turn down leadership/management opportunities because they don't see the value or don't feel supported.
- Some are predicting that the job market will pick up, with more opportunities becoming available, but there is still high competition (average # of applicants-per-job is high).
- Millennials will overtake Gen X as the predominant age group in C-suite leadership roles.
- Wider adoption of skills-based (competency-based) hiring over traditional degree and credential requirements.
Do you have any predictions for 2025? What do you hope to see-or not see-this year?
