Hi Sarah!
I'm not in marketing or communications, but leveraging podcasting to promote an institution's message or highlight faculty/staff work through appearances is indeed a fantastic idea. Podcasts offer a unique platform for faculty to share their expertise and insights, which not only contributes to their own professional development but also enhances the institution's visibility and reputation. This approach can effectively reach more diverse and engaged audiences who are interested in learning and discussing specific, targeted topics. For example, at Saint Louis University, the Division of Mission and Identity puts out a biweekly(?) podcast "Mission Matters" featuring different faculty, staff members, or other individuals in the field, Over at Case Western, the "All Access: Med School Admissions" podcast is a resource from the MedEd community, though it appears they haven't released a new episode since last fall.

Subject: Reach audience through podcasts
Good morning, I am wondering any media relations teams have experience leveraging the power of podcasting to get their institutions message out by booking faculty on existing podcasts. If so, I'd love to hear from you. Thanks, Sarah
