Colleagues,
A team at my institution is seeking information on best practices and trauma-informed response plans for addressing social events/major news stories (i.e. natural disasters, political unrest, acts of mass violence, etc.), especially from any institutions that maintain neutrality policies and/or apply a trauma-informed lens, as we develop our own response plan. Any information on who is responsible for initiating the response system; a decision tree or triage model that outlines what types of events trigger a response and at what level (individual, small group/community, or full institution); key roles, groups, and offices involved in both decision-making and implementation; the approval process for activating response mechanisms and crafting communications; adaptable message templates for various scenarios to ensure consistent, thoughtful, and timely communication; communicating the strategy and distributing relevant support resources to affected groups; and the like, would be appreciated.
Please feel free to message me directly so as to not spam inboxes, and I can share a compiled resource list when available. Alternatively, you can email me here. Many thanks.
