September is Women in Medicine Month, and it's a great time to reflect on how we can support women in academic medicine more effectively.
Recent StandPoint™ Surveys data highlight important differences in faculty experience: women were more likely than their colleagues to report burnout, dissatisfaction with advancement opportunities, concerns about promotion fairness, and higher rates of harassment and disrespect.
While the findings underscore challenges, they also point to clear opportunities. By sharing their perspectives, women faculty are helping medical schools identify ways to strengthen career development, expand mentoring, and improve workplace culture.
How is your institution working to address these issues and support women faculty?
