Headed to Music City this week? It’s known as the country music capital of the world. You might be interested to know that recorded country music officially turns 100 years old this year. (The genre has roots that are much older and more complex of course).

• The first recorded country music track, “Arkansas Traveler” by Eck Robertson and Henry Gilliland, was made in 1922. Listen here.
