  • 1.  The emerging field of neuroresilience

AAMCNews writer @Bridget Balch recently wrote an article exploring the emerging field of neuroresilience, which studies why individuals respond differently to stress and trauma. Click here to learn more about how this field aims to understand the mechanisms behind these varied responses and interventions that can enhance mental health.

The article highlights that mindfulness practices, such as self-talk and narration, can help bring a patient into the present moment, calming their nervous system and alleviating anxious thoughts about the past or future.

I am very passionate about promoting Neuro-Physio-Psychology of resilience and mindfulness in my work. I have been using them with medical students since 2007. we have also incorporated Positive Neuroplasticity and evidence-based mindfulness session for all incoming students in curriculum. we have very positive feedback from students, and this have made them open to attend our weekly mindfulness practices sessions. we also provide them with some recorded practices. They also have access to 5 minutes meditation audio before each test. Our students are using these practices during Step 1 preparations as well. Many students use headspace, Calm or other apps.

I am open to further explore and expand this work.
