As we mentioned last week, Mindful Return CEO Lori Mihalich-Levin—who happens to be a former AAMC employee—has great advice for new parents on navigating parenthood while achieving your career goals. As many of us return to in-person meetings and conferences (we hope to see you at Learn Serve Lead this November in Nashville!), we think Lori’s advice is particularly helpful to new and seasoned parents alike.
- All your feelings are normal
- Your travel gives space for other child + caregiver relationships to flourish
- Use your trip as a way to reconnect with yourself
- Some employers pay for child care if you bring baby with you
Do you have any travel tips for working parents?
One thing I’m going to try and put in place when traveling is to do FaceTime once a day with my son. I’m thinking that before bedtime would be a nice addition to his routine!
And, of course I know I must pay the cute baby tax, so here’s another photo of my Desi (he’s excited to spend time with dad when I travel to Nashville for Learn Serve Lead!)
